Mint Swim Dives into NYFW

Draya Michele, model, actress AND fashion designer, show cased the spring/summer collection of her swim suit line Mint Swim at New York Fashion Week.

Although Mint Swim launched in 2011, this was the first season Draya would be apart of NYFW. Her high celebrity status resulted in backed up traffic right outside her show. After the venue reached maximum capacity over 1500 people were lined up outside attempting to enter. Draya also received support from several other celebrities with the entire front row full with stars such as Fabolous, LaLa Anthony, Christian and Justin Combs and more. Reflecting on the success of her first NYFW show, Draya shared a heartfelt, encouraging message online:

“I came from a city that was recognized by New York Times in 2011 as “America’s poorest city” (READING, PA) ... I work hard everyday to prove to the girls there, just because you start there, doesn’t mean you have to finish there. With hard work and dedication anything is possible. Thank you all.”
